Cesc Fabregas voted best coach in Serie A, Federico Dimarco named best player
This Wednesday, at the Gran Gala del Calcio, the Italian equivalent of the UNFP awards, Cesc Fabregas (Como) has named the best coach in Serie A competition. The award for best player was given to Federico Dimarco (Inter).
Cesc Fabregas’s football coaching career continues its meteoric rise. The 2010 World Cup winner with Spain national team, who retired from playing in 2023 and was appointed as Como manager – then in Serie B – shortly thereafter, was named Serie A’s best tactician on Wednesday at the Gran Gala del Calcio, the Italian equivalent of the UNFP awards. Following a promotion to the top flight and with a comfortable mid-table finish, the former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Monaco player led his team to top fourth-place finish in the Italian Championship last season and qualified the Lombardy club for the Champions League competition for the very first time.
Como’s historic season did not go unnoticed, as, in addition to Fabregas, the Argentinian playmaker Nico Paz (22 years old ,has 12 goals, 6 assists last year) was named the best young player. The best player award went to Federico Dimarco , who had a dazzling season with Inter, boasting impressive attacking statistics pattern for a wing-back (7 goals, 18 assists).
