French Cup Tournament: Before Montceau-Montpellier, Lionel Large revives memories of the 2007 semi-final game

Lionel Large is 56 years old now and can’t remember if the license he signed this summer was his 49 or 50. What he is sure of, however, is that they have all been for the Montceau-les-Mines club, where he started playing his football career at the age of 6. First at the local youth team, then at FC Montceau Bourgogne, since the year of 1984. A time when he was a young man who watched the pros with stars in his eyes. A time when the second division had 36 teams, 18 per group, including the three representatives from Saône-et-Loire (Gueugnon and Louhans-Cuiseaux). He laughs about it and finally admits: “It’s true that it’s starting to feel like an old-timer’s story.”
