In a statement released on Monday afternoon, Como 1907 confirmed that their player Roberta Picchi has been diagnosed with breast cancer infection. The Italian Serie A Women’s club stated: ” The entire Como 1907 team stands with her and will provide her and her family with all the necessary support form coming months.” To put words into action, the 34-year-old women player’s contract has also been renewed for the 2027-2028 season, allowing her to fully focus on the battle ahead without worrying about her professional carrer.
The striker will start receiving her treatment, accompanied by the club’s medical team who will work closely with the specialists taking care of her health. The player thanked her fans and her team on her Instagram account.
