Bruno Fernandes voted player of the season 2025-2026, William Saliba and Rayan Cherki in the team of the season
Awarded following a vote by the players, the PFA awards held on Tuesday evening recognized Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) captain with the title of best player of the 2025-2026 season. French players William Saliba and Rayan Cherki were also named to the team of the season.
Bruno Fernandes was named Player of the Season for 2025-2026 player of the year on Tuesday evening by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA, the professional footballers’ union in England and Wales). Thanks to a superb season with Manchester United club, the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder player succeeds Mohamed Salah in the award. The Red Devils midfielder owes his distinction in particular to his impressive team statistics, with 9 goals and 21 goal assists, making him the Premier League’s all-time leading assist provider in a single season .
After missing out on the Premier League Young Player of the Year award earlier today in the evening , Rayan Cherki was able to console himself with a nomination to the Team of the Year. In this eleven of the season, chosen by a vote of Premier League players, the former Lyon player features alongside his compatriot William Saliba. Bruno Fernandes and Igor Thiago are the only players in the club who do not play for Arsenal (5 players) or Manchester City (4 players).
