Having injured his knee during the last league match, with a 29-23 win in Vannes, the towering Toulouse player (2.03 m, 145 kg) did not participate in Tuesday’s open training session game. According to a source close to the club, the international lock the (28 years old, 18 caps) will be unavailable for Sunday’s home match, a rematch of last season’s Top 14 position final against their Montpellier rivals.
The precise duration of his absence should be known by next week after further examinations, but it could be extended, thus ruling Meafou out of the next French national team camp in November for the Nations Championship competition. If this prolonged absence is confirmed, it would also be a blow for Toulouse, who are already without Clément Vergé (knee) injury, another of their second-row forwards, until April 2027 next year.
