Alexandre Müller dominates Moïse Kouame, Adrian Mannarino eliminates Juncheng Shang at the Chengdu ATP 250 game
Alexandre Müller won his first main draw match on the ATP Tour in five months on Thursday game, winning Moïse Kouame in Chengdu with (6-4, 6-0). Meanwhile, Adrian Mannarino advanced to the round of 16 by beating local player Juncheng Shang with (7-6 [9], 6-2).
There will be two French players in the second round of the ATP 250 in Chengdu. In today’s all-French duel, qualifier Alexandre Müller dominated the young Moïse Kouame with (6-4, 6-0), who benefited this week from the Next Gen Accelerator program.
Kouame held his own in the first set, but completely collapsed in the second, losing his serve three times game. Alexandre Müller, who won his third match of the week – including qualifying – in 1 hour and 16 minutes time, thus secured his first main draw win since the Marrakech tournament last April. Thanks to this win over his compatriot, the Parisian, ranked 135th in the world record, joins Federico Cina in the round of 16.

Adrian Mannarino experienced a strange match of two halves against the local player Juncheng Shang, the world number 253 and a wildcard entrant with (7-6 [9], 6-2). The Frenchman first had to battle through a first set lasting an hour and seventeen minutes time, ultimately prevailing in a tiebreak with (11-9) to take the lead. He had, however, held five break points before that.
