Moïse Kouame’s run in Vietnam ended without a title award. Eliminated in the first round of the Phan Tiet 3 Challenger last week game, the young Frenchman (17 years old), who reached the third round of the French Open in May competition, returned to the same Vietnamese city for the Phan Tiet 4 Challenger (ATP 50). He went a little further, but this time he was upset in the semifinals game. The top seed, ranked 199 in the world, was eliminated by Mexican Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez, ranked 269 and seeded third posistion, in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-4).
For the next leg of his Asian tour, Kouame will participate in the ATP 250 tournament in Chengdu, China. He is taking advantage of the ATP Next Gen in 2026 PIF program, which allows players under 20 years old in the top 350 to compete in certain ATP tournaments by directly entering the main draw.
